Betty Hornick...

Hornick has been a member of CAIW since 1992.  From 1992 until 2004, Betty was a member of the Waterloo Regional Insurance Professionals where she held numerous positions including President for the years 1998 to 2000 and 2002 to 2004.  In 2004, Betty joined TIWA has participated on numerous committees. 
In her role as President, Betty will preside at all meetings of the Association of the Executive Board, Call all meetings of the Association and Executive Board, with the advice and consent of the elected Officer, appoint the chair person of all committees, and of all special committees deemed necessary, appoint the Parliamentarian, be a member of all exoficio committees except the nominating committee, perform such other duties incidental Betty to the office of President and consult with the Treasurer with respect to the appointment of the outside Auditor.
Besides her duties to TIWA, Betty is active member and has held various executive positions in chapters of Beta Sigma Phi, an international women’s organization.  Along with volunteering, Betty was treasurer many years for the Canadian Cancer Society’s annual Daffodil drive for Waterloo Region.  In her spare time, Betty enjoys golfing, reading and travelling.  Betty has more than35 years experience in the insurance industry working for several different insurers in various positions in both operations and head office.  
Betty currently holds the position of National Commercial Team Leader, Product Development in National Commercial Underwriting for Aviva Insurance Company in Scarborough.

Pam DeBoer...
 Pam has enjoyed various roles in the insurance industry with both insurers and brokerages, primarily in Marketing and Sales functions.
Pam began her career in the insurance industry in 1981 with Safeco Insurance Company. She quickly knew that this was the industry that she wanted a career in and shortly after joining Safeco she began taking C.I.P. courses, acquiring her C.I.P., then her F.C.I.P. and C.R.M. designations.
In 2008, she accepted a position with Paul Davis Systems of Toronto/York Region (Property Damage Restoration Contractors) as their Business Development Manager and in 2010 joined the Paul Davis Systems of Canada Head office as Business Development Director for Ontario. 
She is responsible for all marketing and sales functions, relative to promotion of and relationship management on behalf of the Ontario franchises. 
Pam lives in Innisfil with her husband, Chris and daughter, Joanne. She enjoys travelling, reading, boating, golfing, and floral design in her spare time.
Pam also sits on the Board of Directors for the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation.

Vinita Jaware...
        has been an active member of TIWA since 2011, having previously served as the Bulletin chairperson from 2011-2012.  Vinita serves on the executive board as treasurer – a position with fiscal accountability to the members of TIWA for the designated operating year in the financial activities of which TIWA engages in.  Vinita also chairs a newly amalgamated Marketing & Communications Committee for TIWA – which is comprised of the Bulletin, Publicity, Social Media, and Website committees.

Prior to joining the insurance industry Vinita’s 12 year career has spanned such industries as healthcare, non-profit, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, entertainment, and financial services all of which were roles primarily in the Marketing/Communications Strategy and Business/Corporate and New Product Development capacities.

Vinita is employed with Brosz Forensic Services Inc. a professional engineering firm with a 42 year history of serving the claims and risk-underwriting facets of the insurance industry. In her current role as Vice President Operations & Business Development she is responsible for the business operations and revenue generation activities for this multi-faceted engineering firm.

Apart from TIWA – Vinita also serves on the Canadian Executive Committee of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals – a group dedicated to fostering the subrogation dialogue amongst insurers and their associated parties.

Sephora Sciara...
         has been an active member of TIWA since 2009 and serving as Dinner Meeting Chairperson since 2011.  Some accomplishments that she is proud to be part of is the promotion of our TIWA monthly dinner meetings and activities via social media which has increased participation and resulted in new memberships.
 
She has been in the insurance industry for 15+ years holding various positions both on the broker and company level.  Currently she works at CAA Insurance Company as Manager of Corporate Underwriting.
 
Besides her duties at TIWA, she also has organized and participated in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life for the past two years and serves on the CAA SickKids Foundation Charity Committee.
 
In the role of Executive Officer, she has the privilege to liaise with the various committees chairpersons, counsel and assist them in whatever they require and prepare reports to the executive board.

Quinn Regis...
        began his career in the banking sector with TD Waterhouse and American Express. Since 2009 Quinn has worked as an Account Manager for Belron Canada/Speedy Glass. During this time he has had the opportunity to convey his message of glass safety to insurance professionals throughout Ontario. In 2005 he began working at Speedy’s National support centre in Concord Ontario where he spent 4 years. His responsibilities included training, coaching, and mentoring call centre agents. Also during this time he trained customer service staff, management, and technicians from most other departments on customer service handling techniques.
Quinn obtained a diploma in Marketing and Sales at Seneca College and is working towards a degree in the same field at York University. He was raised in Uxbridge Ontario and moved to Toronto in his early twenties where he spent 14 years. He now resides with his wife in Aurora Ontario. 
In his time away from work Quinn enjoys a deep passion for motorsport and actively participates in the Ontario rally-cross championship. He enjoys exercise, mountain biking, and ourdoor activities. He participates annually in the Canadian Cancer Society’s relay for life. Although he is a beginner, he does enjoy playing golf.

Cheryl Morton...
        
has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years and manages risk for high net worth clients.

Cheryl has been an active member of TIWA since 1995 and has volunteered her time on every committee, including being the Chairman of the CAIW Annual Convention that was held in Toronto 2009 and  Wine & Cheese Chairman in 2011 and 2012.Cheryl also served the Association as President in 2004/2005. 

In November 2010, Cheryl was elected as TIWA’s Director on the CAIW board.

Karen ...
         has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years and an active member of TIWA since 1980.
Over the years, Karen has chaired almost every TIWA committee including Chairman of the CAIW Annual Convention, held in Toronto in 2000.
Karen has also held every position on the Executive Board of TIWA, including President.
Karen went on to become Director for TIWA on the CAIW Board. Karen held every position on the CAIW Executive Board, including President. She continues to sit on the Advisory Board of CAIW as well as Insurance Women of The Year Award Committee of which she is a past award recipient.

Michelle Cole-Kennedy... 
        has been a member of TIWA since 2003.In her role as Immediate Past President, Michelle will chair the Nominating Committee, The Patron of the Year Award Committee and the Past President’s December Dinner meeting.
Besides her duties to TIWA, Michelle is also a member of the Board of Directors for the East Scarborough Boys and Girls Club, The Scarborough Blizzard Youth Soccer Club and the Lluidas Vale Association.  
Michelle has over 23 years experience in the insurance industry and has worked at both the broker and company level. She is currently a managing partner at Pathways Partner Limited an insurance broker and company consulting firm.
Michelle lives in Toronto with her husband, two sons and daughter.
